UIC held an opening ceremony for its Research Postgraduate Winter Camp 2024 on 19 January 2024, gathering over 40 talents nationwide to start their journey in further studies.
UIC senior management and faculty attended the meeting, delivered speeches, and expressed their high hopes.
UIC Vice President (Research and Development) and Dean of the Graduate School Prof Jia Weijia introduced UIC's academic strength comprehensively and hoped the students of the Winter Camp could utilise UIC's academic resources to explore their academic interests.
UIC Associate Vice President (Internationalization) and Dean of Faculty of Science and Technology Prof Pan Jianxin encouraged students to actively participate in the research projects and to cultivate innovation and practical ability.
UIC Chair Professor Fang Kai-Tai said students should focus on hard skills, soft skills, and interdisciplinary research to continue to progress and make achievements in the future.
Dean-designate of the Graduate School Prof Huang Yu shared his experience of studying abroad with the students and encouraged them to learn to be critical and independent in academic research.
Issues including the College and its postgraduate programmes, the Winter Camp and the Faculty were explained in detail in the ceremony.

UIC Research Postgraduate Winter Camp aimed to provide a platform for students interested in enrolling in UIC's postgraduate programmes to gain an in-depth understanding of the College's academic, research resources and humanistic environments.
