UIC's Faculty of Business and Management (FBM) has recently won awards at international academic conferences.

This summer, at the World Transport Convention (WTC) 2024, an international academic conference and exhibition platform in the field of transportation, UIC doctoral student Xu Ziting, supervised by the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Management Prof Adolf Ng, presented the research paper "A neuro-enhanced model for assessing maritime supply chain resilience under climate change" as the first author.

The paper investigates the key factors of maritime supply chain resilience to meet the challenges posed by the extreme weather conditions, and was awarded the recommended paper and displayed in poster during the WTC 2024.

Moreover, the AIS (Association for Information Systems) Special Interest Group (SIG) on Information Systems in Asia Pacific (ISAP) was also successfully held with the 2024 Workshop on Information Systems in Asia Pacific. During the event, the Best Paper Award was presented to Ms Claudia Chow of UIC's FBM and her partner for their paper "Resistance to Artificial Intelligence: Exploring AI's Intelligence to Deliver Financial Services".

The paper focuses on user acceptance or rejection of AI services and finds that consumer acceptance of AI services is positively related to perceived performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and the perceived level of intelligence of the AI.

At the 13th Asia Academy of Management Conference, Dr Wang Peng of UIC's FBM has brought home the Best Reviewer Award for the second time. The Asia Academy of Management (AAOM) is a global non-profit institution that promotes management research, education, and knowledge dissemination relevant to management in Asia, and attracts renowned international scholars as members.

Dr Wang shared that a good review report should contain the 4Rs elements: respect for the author's efforts, recognition of the article's highlights and contributions and how to improve it, reasons for your questions, and recommendations for solutions.

These recognitions at international academic conferences showcase UIC FBM's innovative research and dedication to academic excellence, as well as its impact and contribution to the global community.
