Guest shares employment prospects of GBA with UIC students

UIC and Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) jointly hosted a high table dinner to discuss the development prospects and career planning of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area on 16 November 2024. Jobsdb by SEEK Hong Kong Manager Director Mr Bill Lee delivered a speech.

Students and guests gathered together

Mr Lee shared his understanding of career development trend. With the rapid economic growth in the Greater Bay Area, Guangzhou and Shenzhen have a strong demand for highly educated young talents in IT, automobile, new energy and other fields. In the face of future workplace challenges, he advised students to focus on skills like programming and industrial automation, and developing innovative thinking and adaptability.

Mr Bill Lee shares insight into career development trends

During the Q & A session, Mr Lee suggested that students pay attention to the government’s talent scheme. He said that the key to success, is to set clear career goals, maintain learning ability and keep resilience for risk.

Vice President (Teaching and Learning) of HKBU, Dr Albert Chau, said that both UIC and HKBU attach great importance to enhancing students' international perspective and practical ability through interdisciplinary education and diversified learning programmes.

Associate Vice President (Student Development) of UIC, Prof Stella Cho said that the event was one of the important parts of the HKBU Study Tour in Zhuhai, helping students understand the development opportunities in the Greater Bay Area.
