UIC invited the President of the Macao Foundation and President of the Federation of Associations of Cultural Sectors of Macao, Prof Wu Zhiliang, to give a lecture entitled "The Contemporary Significance of Macau's History and Culture" on 13 November 2024.

Prof Wu introduced Macao from various perspectives, pointing out that its outstanding geographical location, stable social environment, and profound historical resources provide good conditions for the development of its cultural industry. At the same time, the development of cultural industry is an important direction for the diversification of Macao's economy.
During the discussion, Prof Wu Zhiliang and UIC's students and faculty discussed how universities contribute to cultural inheritance and development, the prospect of the construction of universities in Zhuhai-Macao, and the preservation of Macao's history and culture.
