UIC student organisations are committed to enriching students' college life, developing students' skills, helping students broaden their minds, and making innovations, in which student leaders play an essential role. On 2 December, UIC held the Inauguration Ceremony of Student Organisations and the Student Leadership Forum, and new student leaders were sworn in. At the forum, the cultivation of social responsibility and leadership of college students in the new era was also discussed.

President Tang Tao delivers his remarks
In his remarks, UIC President Professor Tang Tao addressed that servant leadership is one of the qualities that UIC wants the graduates to acquire. As a student leader, responsibilities contribute to leadership. He hopes that the students can cherish the opportunities of service and leadership, and enjoy their work with enthusiasm and joy.

Student leaders taking their oath of leadership
Representatives of all student organisations take the oath of leadership under the witness of teachers and students. They will stay true to the funding missions of their organisations, exert their leaderships, and invest their powers and passions to the development of student organisations.
In the previous year, various interest clubs have revealed their vitality through diversified activities with rich contents, which vastly enriched students' college life. President Prof Tang Tao, UIC Provost Prof Chen Zhi, Vice President Prof Mao Yaqing, and Associate Vice President Prof Stella Cho, presented awards to the organisations that won the 2019-2020 Star Award respectively.
