President Tang emphasised that to achieve the goal of building a world-class Bay Area and a world-class urban agglomeration, talents with local roots and global visions are of the most significance for Greater Bay Area in the future. While facing the current international circumstances, higher education should cultivate students' abilities to seek certainty among uncertainties, improve their multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary skills, and create opportunities for students to embrace diversity.

He mentioned that excellent teaching quality is the all-time goal for UIC. Since its establishment 15 years ago, UIC has made achievements in promoting and implementing liberal arts education, innovative teaching and scientific research. Such achievements should inevitably give the credit to UIC's unique quality assurance system.

To maintain the uniqueness of UIC as a new liberal arts university and ensure that students can achieve their learning goals, the college implements a quality assurance system that is divided into both internal and external. The components of the internal quality assurance system include UIC's unique managing model, its international faculty, strict programme evaluation, liberal-arts curriculum design, high-quality teaching, student-oriented Mentor Caring Programme and so on. External quality assurance includes the examination of established programmes and evaluation in administration and education by two-parent institutions, supervision from External Examiners, Advisory Committee, as well as alumni and parents.

Internal quality assurance includes unique managing model, international teaching faculty, strict evaluation of programmes, etc.

External quality assurance includes two parent colleges' evaluation of administrative and teaching quality, the examination of established programmes, and external supervision from alumni and parents.

In addition to strictly following the quality assurance system, UIC will make full use of its development advantages in GBA in the future. UIC aims to gradually improve its capabilities in talents cultivation and scientific and technological innovation, and give full play to the benefits of the Alliance to help them develop sustainably.

Former director of the Department of Higher Education of Ministry of Education, former president of China Association of Higher Education, former president of Beijing Normal University Zhong Binglin, deputy director of Higher Education Teaching Evaluation Centre of Ministry of Education Zhou Aijun, president of Macau University Song Yonghua, director of Quality Management Office of Tongji University, and the secretary-general of National University Quality Monitoring Research Association Li Yadong, the party secretary of Wuyi University Zhang Kun, and the deputy party secretary as well as the president of Wuyi University Zhang Yunhua also attended the forum.
