UIC's Industrial-University Research Collaboration Centre was established in 2019. With the support of ten and more experts from home and abroad and investment from several sectors, it strives to transform scientific research and promote project implementation.
The Centre has attracted more than 20 start-ups by the end of October 2021. They operate in different sectors, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), biomedicine, creative culture, etc. Statistics reveal that 35 items from these enterprises were awarded intellectual property rights, and external investment in their projects reached 20 million yuan. Among all projects, some are conducted by students and staff of UIC.

As Zhuhai was recently awarded an innovative city with its breakthrough in intelligent urban development, digital information, and other sectors, the Centre will continue to serve as a transformation platform for scientific and technological innovation, with enterprises-centred and market-oriented operation.
Zhuhai Shuzhou Technology: New influence in Computer-aided Engineering (CAE)
Zhuhai Shuzhou Technology Co., Ltd. brings new impacts in Computer-aided Engineering (CAE), broadly applied in product development, engineering, scientific research, education, etc. Currently, it commits to transforming the cutting-edge research outcomes into software technology, which, as a result, provides users with powerful and easy-to-use simulation software.
Shuzhou has established cooperation with scientific teams of excellent academic institutes, such as UIC, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Peking University, and Sun Yat-sen University.
In the future, Shuzhou will cultivate interdisciplinary talents in mathematics and industrial software development with UIC and other higher institutes of Zhuhai.
Chaoshisu Technology: New energy of the intelligent medicine field
Led by Prof Shi Hongjian from the Division of Science and Technology (DST), Chaoshisu Technology company was the first team to cooperate with the Industrial-University Research Collaboration Centre. It is committed to researching intelligent cone-beam CT imaging and diagnosis project. Recently, the team won the Bronze Award in the 2021 Guangdong Community Entrepreneurship Cup competition.

To promote the Industrial-University Research Collaboration, the company offers internship opportunities to UIC's students. Wang Yuxin, a 2019 undergraduate of CST, was one of the summer interns for software testing in Chaoshisu, who seized this chance to communicate with professions in this sector.
Zhuhai Mingwang Technology: Striving for Internet of Things (IoT) development
Zhuhai Mingwang Technology Co., Ltd. joined the Centre in December 2020. Its primary services involve research and development on AI applications, IoT, application system management, etc. In addition, the company has been supporting the health report system of UIC and providing intelligent management systems for the government and hospitals in Zhuhai.

According to Mr Liu, joining the Centre is an excellent opportunity for Mingwang to share the benefits of the rapidly developing IoT sector.
Langchen Technology: The elderly's safety with AI
Langchen Technology Co., Ltd. was established supervised by the Director of AI & Digital Media Concentration (Master) Programme and Professor of Computer Science and Technology (CST) Programme Prof Su Weifeng. The company joined the Centre in 2021 with Mr Lin Xuan, a 2015 graduate in CST, responsible for business development.
Langchen consists of young talents aged 30 and lower and possessional in Roberts development and AI algorithms. The company got 500 thousand yuan of seed investment. Mass production will start this year based on its current model development of the product.
The Gardener: Starting from UIC
Chen Zhuo, a 2021 graduate of UIC's Public Relations and Advertising (PRA), started the business of the Gardener as an undergraduate with other co-founders and got support from different departments of UIC.

At least 30 thousand products have been sold since the business started. In addition, the team received a seed round of 500 thousand yuan and cooperated with several offline bookshops. As a plan, Chen Zhuo expects Gardener to be a mutual brand for plants operated by a team with internet thinking. Meanwhile, he hopes to cooperate with UIC to design more cultural creative products to promote the Liberal Arts Education of UIC.
