Published on 21 May 2024

Tapping into traditional Chinese culture and combining global vision, UIC creates an environment rich in cultural diversity and international perspectives for both staff and students with its liberal education.

On 8 May 2024, UIC President Prof Chen Zhi shared his insights into The Book of Songs and ancient Chinese culture in a lecture of UIC's Contemporary World and China Lecture Series. In the lecture, he explored Confucian ideology, relationships among Xia-Shang-Zhou dynasties and the evolution of the system of rites and music ('Yayue'). During the Q&A session, he recommended several books related to early ancient Chinese history culture, facilitating further study research for teachers and students.
