UIC received an invitation from the Department of Education of Guangdong Province to nominate international students for the Guangdong Government Outstanding Foreign Student Scholarship.

The deans of UIC’s four academic divisions held a meeting on 26 June 2018 to determine suitable candidates for the award. After the meeting, the International Development office received five student nominations that were all awarded Guangdong Government Outstanding Foreign Student Scholarship.

The nomination of each of these international degree-seeking students was based on their levels of academic excellence, recommendations from their respective division Deans and programme directors, active participation in various college activities, and overall compliance with campus rules and regulations.

On 28 November 2018, the Scholarship Presentation Ceremony for the Academic Year 2017-2018 was held. Year two CCM recipient Bae So Jung reported her delight at receiving this honour, saying “It gave me more motivation.” She commented on the high level of excellence among all students attending the scholarship ceremony and how motivational it was to attend the event with them.
