On 13 March, a group of twenty students and two professors from the Open University of Hong Kong (OUHK) came to visit UIC’s new campus. The students are members of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) OUHK Student Branch. This was Dr Kevin King Fai Hung’s third time to visit UIC and his first time to visit the new campus.
The group’s tour included the Food Science and Technology (FST) labs in T8, where they got to see the Food Processing Lab, Research Lab, Microbiology Lab, Molecular Biology Lab and Animal Cell Culture Room.
Division of Science and Technology (DST) Laboratory Manager, Dr Xin Xiong, along with DST Instructor, Ms Cai Weixi, and DST Teaching Assistant, Ms Wu Xiaoyan, introduced to the students to the equipment in the labs, including the Gas Chromatography equipment, the Spectrum Frontier FT-IR, and Potentiometric Titration System. Students were also presented with ice cream made by the Laboratory Technician, Mr Wu Benpei, as a special gift from the FST labs.

After visiting the labs, students were led to the Research Institute for Dissemination of Chinese Culture and Yayue Hall, to see Chinese traditional musical instruments.

After paying a visit to the IDO office, students went to Changsheng Canteen for dinner.
