The first part of the talk was given by Dr Sheena Van Der Mark, an Assistant Professor in DHSS. Dr Van Der Mark talked about why professors may want to incorporate e-learning into their teaching. She discussed the idea of ‘blended learning’, which provides students with a wider variety of tools to participate in the classroom. Dr Van Der Mark then introduced the audience to several programmes they could use to incorporate e-learning in their classrooms. These include Storyline 360, Studio 360, Replay 360, Rise as well as others, which are all housed under the umbrella programme called Articulate.

The room was packed with DHSS professors
After a short tea break, Dr Edith Yan, an Associate Professor in DHSS, gave a talk titled “Introduction to the Study on Enhancing e-Learning Education with Interactive Software”. She later helped facilitate a group discussion along with Dr Van Der Mark, Ms King, and DHSS Teaching Assistant, Ms Sapphire Lan. They asked the audience what course activities they felt could be easily incorporated into online interactive lessons. Professors left with new ideas and resources to enhance their teaching as well as making their classrooms accessible and enjoyable for all students.
