Fortune 500 company CEFC China Energy Company Limited signed a strategic cooperation agreement with UIC on 7 March. Also, another two agreements were inked on the same day that will see CEFC China sponsor the construction and development of UIC’s new campus and Institute for Communication Studies of Chinese Culture.

Mr Chen Qiang, vice president of the company and Prof Ng Ching-Fai, UIC President, represented both parties to witness the signing ceremonies.
According to the agreements, CEFC China will support UIC’s development by donating 14.2 million RMB, recognising its educational innovation. In addition to backing the college to build its new campus, the fund will ensure its academic excellence, conduct high standard research and enhance cultural exchange between China and other countries. CEFC China will also establish and name a scholarship to aid UIC students as well as to award their achievements.

CEFC China and UIC will also explore possibilities of cooperation in student internships, placements, professional training, research and more.
