On 15 February, the International Development Office (IDO) of UIC held an information session for students interested in the off-campus summer programmes.

The session was held in room B201 and there was almost a full house as there were not many empty seats left due to the strong interest from many UIC students.

Colleagues from Academic Registry (AR) and IDO explained many regulations for students in the session and answered questions.

The students paid great attention as Ms. Winnie Guo, a representative from AR, explained in detail about the unit transfer. She gave examples of several different situations when students could not transfer units and also emphasized that it is important to choose a course that is suitable with the graduation requirement if the students really wanted to transfer units. Students can search for the proposed list of course equivalence on IDO’s website to get more details.

After that, Ms. Mei Li, study abroad coordinator and assistant director of IDO, explained and introduced the students to other details, such as benefits, regulations, processes and visa issues. She also directed students how to find important information and use it effectively.

In addition, students who plan for Canadian or Spanish programmes should pay attention that they need to prepare High School Graduation Notarized Certificate for visa application, which may cost time and energy.
