The first intake of 30 students have started their study at UIC for the China Foreign Affairs University International Partnership Programme-UIC (CFAU IPP-UIC).

This programme allows the students, after completing one year of university study in China, to directly enter the University of Alberta without application, or one of the five top universities in Canada, where students can study to gain the remaining credits for their bachelor's degree.

Students from Hong Kong, Macao and mainland China who have finished at least two years of senior high school study are eligible to enrol in this programme. They will study one semester in Zhuhai and one in Beijing to improve their English and complete courses, including international examination training, study skills and Whole Person Education as well as studying university courses worth 12 to 18 credits. The universities in Canada adopt the credits system.

The students’ parents and the teachers from both universities attended the inauguration ceremony on 11 September, organised by the Academy of Continuing Education (ACE).

UIC President Prof Ng Ching-Fai and Prof Han Yaoxin, Associate Dean of CFAU’s School of International Education, both encouraged the students to take advantage of this programme to develop global vision and to fulfil their lives.
