UIC has been granted RMB3.6 million for the Zhuhai Higher Education Development Project 2015 to support local economic and social development with university resources.
The Project funds the setting up of the Zhuhai Key Laboratory of Agriculture Product Quality and Food Safety (Director: Dr Lei Bo, Associate Professor of FST). In addition, it backs two Preponderant Disciplines: Statistics Programme (Person in charge: Dr He Ping, Acting Programme Director) and Accounting Programme (Person in charge: Prof Stella Cho, Dean of DBM).
This patronage also includes two Zhuhai Specially Employed Scholars Prof Xu Baojun (FST) and Dr Su Weifeng (Programme Director of CST).

The Project aims to promote the greater integration of local higher education and the high-tech industries, with each funding project lasting three years.
