Businessman Franco Cutrupia and his wife Ngai Chiu Fung have donated 1.28million RMB to initiate the UIC Cutrupia Couple Endowment Fund, Hong Kong Students Sponsorship Scheme. The scheme is expected to encourage excellent Hong Kong students to study at UIC, supporting the college to provide quality education.
This new type of scholarship will be evaluated once a year and the first recipients will be determined by the end of this September. It will offer a first prize of 20,000 RMB and award three second prize winners 10,000 RMB each.

This is another scholarship that the Cutrupia couple have presented to UIC students, following the Mr and Mrs Cutrupia Mainland Students Scholarship set up in 2012. This is also the second permanent scholarship provided by a member of the community in addition to the Mr Fung Sun Kwan Scholarship of Excellence.
Mr Cutrupia runs successful business in both Italy and China, and Ngai is an alumna of Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU). They have been caring about the development of HKBU and UIC and giving back to society by establishing many funds and foundations to help various people and organisations.
