Former Vice-Chairman of NPC Standing Committee Chen Zhili visits UIC

Chen Zhili, former Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, former State Councillor and former Minister of Education of China, visited UIC on 14 November.

She heaped praise upon UIC for its Whole Person Education experiential learning courses during her visit which focussed on the educational cooperation between mainland China and Hong Kong.

Among those who accompanied her were: Zhou Yuanqing, honorary chairman of the China Association of Higher Education; Chen Xiaochuan, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee; Fan Meilin, deputy director of the Department of Higher Education in the Ministry of Education of China; Luo Weiqi, director of the Department of Education of Guangdong Province; Long Guangyan, deputy mayor of Zhuhai; and Zhong Yijun, director of Zhuhai’s Education Bureau.

The group watched a promotional aerial video of UIC, before learning about the college in a presentation by Assistant to President Lilian Li.

They then visited the House of Shedao in order to learn about UIC’s Chinese archery course and the House of Qin where it was explained how the ancient Chinese musical instrument is revived as a Whole People Education class.

Later, Ms Chen came to the 3D Innovation and Development Lab, where she was presented with a 3D photograph of her in print by students using the modern technology.
