Foreign staff and students completed their Chinese language and culture programme and gave an interesting talent show to present their achievement in Chinese on 17 December 2014.

Before the show started, Candy Cai (Instructor of UIC’s Chinese Language and Culture Centre) played a video to show the foreigners' study experience.

The expats then came on stage to deliver speeches on Christmas traditions, French music festivals, their experiences in China and many other topics in fluent Chinese.

UIC’s English Language Centre Intern Miya Sommers said: “It's my honour to meet so many cute people in UIC, including my students and partners. They teach me Chinese and give me a lot of help in my life. Now I want to say thank you and I love you all.”

Performances of guitar, sitcom, Taiji, poem reading, singing and video dubbing were also presented and interspersed with games and lucky draws.

The study programme offered by CLC has helped improve his Chinese a great deal, said intern Keenan Madson.

“I went to Zhangjiajie with my friend three weeks ago. We used Chinese to communicate with the local people. I am very proud of this experience,” he added.
