UIC’s Division of Science and Technology (DST) held the third meeting of its Advisory Committee on 7 January.
After reviewing the development of the Division, advisors gave their insights on a coming minor programme and the feasibility of establishing a new programme, and conferred on how to encourage student entrepreneurs and combine learning and industry.
UIC President Prof Ng Ching-Fai said UIC has been struggling with the many challenges a pioneer Sino-foreign tertiary education model faces, adding that the advisors’ opinions and suggestions have been valuable to the development of the College.
Referring to youth entrepreneur innovation hub in Shenzhen, Vice President Prof Zee Sze Yong pointed out that UIC encourages students to start up their own businesses and would like to get the advisors to counsel them.
