CTV student wins second prize in Zhuhai Micro-film Competition

Fu Kexin, a Year Four student from UIC’s Cinema and Television Programme, won the Second Prize with her production Kaoshan (Backer) at the 2014 “Civilized Zhuhai” Micro-film Competition on 27 November. UIC also obtained the Outstanding Organisation Award.

Organized by the Zhuhai Film and Television Artists Association, the competition received more than 70 submissions to compete for ten awards. After two rounds of selection, the Award Ceremony was held at the Zhuhai TV Station.

Fu Kexin produced Kaoshan in her third year of college for the subject Film and Television Directing. The film tells the story of a father and his daughter. The daughter struggles to pursuit her dream of becoming a painter despite her father’s objection. The father, who dreamed to be a musician in his youth but gave up later under the pressure from his family, is so impressed by his daughter’s persistence that eventually he chooses to help her to accomplish her dream.
