A special High Table Dinner held on 15 October saw rows of attendees in robes listening to speakers discussing how they could strengthen UIC’s hall culture.
This dinner, dubbed the Hall High Table Dinner, was organized for the first time in honour of the attendees’ appointment as Wardens and Hall Student Officers, according to UIC President Prof Ng Ching-Fai.
He presented credentials to express his thanks and expectations to the recent appointees for their dedication to the work on cultivating the hall culture on the campus.

Another speaker, Vice President Prof Zee Sze Yong also emphasised the importance of the Wardens and Hall Student Officers’ roles in “helping UIC to establish not only a high quality and unique hall culture tradition, but more significantly to have implanted a soul into the cultural heritage and liberal arts education ethos of UIC.”
“We expect that you’ll be not only leaders but better still servant leaders,” he said to the Hall Student Officers, encouraging them to become role models for their fellows.

High Table guests also included Vice President Prof Zhang Cong, Associate Vice President Prof Lilian Kwan, Managing Director for Financial Planning and Development Mr Nelson Chan, Chief of Student Affairs Prof Johnston Wong, and Director of Whole Person Education Office Dr Guo Haipeng.
