UIC President Prof Ng Ching-Fai (left), Vice President Prof Zee Sze Yong (right) and Director of Whole Person Education Office Dr Guo Haipeng (middle) opened the Art Hill on 31 August. The Art Hill comprises the Glass Arts Studio, the House of Shedao (Chinese archery) and the House of Qin (guqin). |
 |
To an audience of mostly new students’ parents Prof Ng Ching-Fai explained that both UIC’s Whole Person Education and General Education enable students to be exposed to the arts. Experiential learning in the form of shadow puppet theatre, guqin and shedao classes help understand Chinese traditional culture. Glass arts and tie-dye crafts are important elements of UIC’s visual art philosophy. |
