The UIC-Enactus team finished as the runner-up in the Enactus Hong Kong and South China Regional Competition for the World Cup 2014 on 4 April.

The team overcame strong opposition by presenting their Camellia Project in the Youth Square of Hong Kong, and will join ten other teams in the region to Beijing for the National Championship in China in June.

The Camellia Project started in 2011 when members of the UIC-Enactus found that despite high economic value, the growing of camellia trees was not being promoted, nor the production of side-products. The Project has put into practice a business operating mode with the opening of an outlet, and helps improve the living standards of villagers in Shangyou County, Jiangxi Province.

Moreover, the team helped three hostel managers of UIC set up a hand-made camellia soap workshop.

After months of preparation, presenters of the UIC-Enactus shone in the regional competition, answering questions in a confident and composed manner.
