CTV partners with 9 Art Space to offer local film screenings

Local residents recently had an opportunity to taste the graduating films of UIC’s Cinema and Television Programme (CTV) in a free exhibition called 24 Frames. This event was held in collaboration with the local cultural company the 9 Art Space on 6 June.

Prof Evelyn Mai, Programme Director of CTV and Associate Dean of the Division of Humanities and Social Sciences at UIC, was in attendance at the opening ceremony and spoke to the audience about the development of CTV: “Our programme and students are growing stronger each year. They are becoming more mature in their mind and work, creating films of diverse themes. This exhibition is a wonderful opportunity for them because it gives them a chance to share their graduate works off-campus, conduct communications with local artists, and share the art of film with Zhuhai citizens.”

Other attendees who also shared their thoughts with the audience included the artist and the 9 Art Space director Mr Li Weinian, artists Luo Shunlin and Cun Bei, jewel designer Ling Feiyang, musician Yang Pengfei, and film composer Liang Chu.

Many of the participating CTV directors were in attendance and were given an opportunity to discuss their creative process and ideas. Audience members were also given the opportunity to ask questions.

In addition to the exhibition at the 9 Art Space, the 24 Frames exhibition was shown on later days at Wanbo Image Café and the branch office of the 9 Art Space in Heyuan City.
