This year, the Federation received 223 applications and decided to grant funds to 68 of them. Five out of the nine projects UIC submitted are among them.

This is a breakthrough for UIC. “These successful applications will push research activities to a more advanced stage, resulting in a more influential and positive image of our college, both within Zhuhai and in the whole of Guangdong Province,” says Prof Zhang Genfa, Director of the Research Office (RO) and UIC Registrar.

The RO focus of the applications this year was to have a wide range of involvement. This goal was achieved as fund-winners are from the Division of Business and Management, the Division of Humanities and Social Sciences, the General Education Office, the Whole Person Education Office, and the RO.

Staff have been strongly encouraged by the UIC leadership and well supported by the RO in their applications.

The funded projects are:

Study on the Enterprise Culture of Zhuhai – From Brand Research to Image Building of Zhuhai (Principal Investigator: Prof Evelyn Mai)
An Analysis of the Interaction between University Research Activities and the City Development of Zhuhai (Principal Investigator: Mr Jay Liu)
The Cross-Region Culture Adjustment of Children of Migrant Workers in Zhuhai (Principal Investigator: Dr Angela Ma)
