The delegates from Georgetown University, a 224-year-old private research university in Washington DC, welcome UIC students for enrolment in its Biomedical Graduate Education Programmes, and will present eligible ones with a preferential recruitment offer.
The recruitment scheme has been largely directed towards the Biostatistics programme enrolment. Other Master’s Degree Programmes offered to UIC students include biochemistry and molecular biology, biotechnology, and tumour biology. Georgetown University encourages applications from students of the Statistics, Food Science and Engineering, and Environmental Science programmes.
“UIC students no longer have to submit a TOEFL or an IELTS examination score for their application. If more than ten students are recruited, they will get a 10% discount in tuition,” said Director of Recruitment and Career Services at Georgetown University Ms Caroline Wu.

“There is a huge job market for these programmes as the demand is higher than the supply,” she added. For example, the biostatistics programme has a 100% calculated job placement rate within 12 months of graduation.
Delegates Chair of the Medical Centre Prof Ming Tan, post-doctoral fellow in Drug Discovery and Design Dr Kan Wang, and Ms Caroline Wu, thought highly of UIC’s educational philosophy. They received a campus tour by UIC President Prof Ng Ching-Fai and other staff and took part in a discussion session about our college.
