Mr. Ye (sixth from left) hoped that Hengqin can benefit from UIC’s resources by setting up a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the college.

President Prof. Ng Ching-Fai, Vice President Prof. Zee Sze-Yong, Prof. Stella Cho, Dean of the Division of Business and Management, and Prof. Evelyn Mai, Associate Dean of the Division of Humanities and Social Sciences, discussed the possible cooperation that UIC could offer.

Prof. Ng explained that UIC should contribute to Zhuhai’s public services. The college can provide a platform for experts from Hong Kong and other places throughout the world to come together and promote Hengqin and Zhuhai.

Dr. Tsim Siu-Tai and Dr. Amy Zhang, Associate Professors at the Division of Science and Technology, and Ms. Lillian Li, Director of Secretarial Office and Assistant to the President, also joined the meeting.

After exchanging ideas, Mr. Ye believed that UIC could offer support in innovative financing, commercial services, creative cultural industry and environmental conservation between Hengqin, Hong Kong and Macau. “Hengqin is rapidly expanding, and we will be looking for UIC graduates from various academic backgrounds for internships”, he added.

Earlier on August 9, UIC’s Research and Development Finance Training Centre became one of the very first projects at the Hengqin Financial Industry Service Base (first phase) in the Shizimen Central Business District.
