The 2012 UIC Spanish Culture Week was launched on April 16 with an opening ceremony hosted by Centre of Foreign Language and Cultures (CFLC) and and DHSS. Spanish Consul General in Guangzhou Mr. Carlos Morales and President of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce Mr. David Lopez, joined UIC’s President Ng Ching-Fai and other guests in the event.

Starting at noon, a Flamenco dance and Spanish guitar-playing were staged by members of the Spanish Club.

Mr. Morales and Mr. Lopez spoke to students on studying, travelling and business conditions in Spain.

April 18, 11am: Presentation on Spanish Culture, D302
April 19, 7-9pm: Indian Spanish film “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (English: You don't get life a second time)”, shown at SHCV bookstore
April 20, 11am at D302: Presentation on Energy, Sustainability and Opportunities in China made by President of the Sino-Spanish Association Mr Cosme de Arana
April 21, 7pm: Spanish Food Trip to Zhongshan
April 23, Spanish Valentine’s Day, 1-2pm at SHCV bookstore and Greenwood: traditionally, books for girls and flowers for boys to exchange with each other; Spanish Fashion Show will be held at B-102 at 7pm.
