The second annual meeting of MCCP-HKBU-UIC Joint Faculty Development Institute was held at UIC on November 14.
MPCC and UIC Signed Memorandum of Understanding
Paul Cerkvenik, the president of MPCC and Professor Ng Ching-Fai, the president of United International College signed the memorandum, which included agreements on promoting teaching and learning approaches through collaborative research and publications.

The Conference focused on experiences of teacher's development and workshops on teaching-learning.
The MCCP-HBNU-UIC Joint Faculty Development Institute aimed to strengthen teachers' development, share teaching experience and provide a communicating platform among college faculties. UIC Associate Vice President Dr. Wendy Chan said institute activities were held twice a year. In June 2011, UIC teachers visited Augsburg College on a working tour.
Dr Jiayong Li Gave a Speech
After a week's study in Augsburg College, the two parties decided to sign an agreement later in the year.
On the morning of the 14th, Dr Jiayong Li, Associate Dean of BNU Education School of spoke on faculty improvement and supervision and Dr Eva Wong , Director of Center for Holistic Teaching and Learning at HKBU emphasized the note of teaching evaluation.
Prof Bruce Reichenbach
Prof Bruce Reichenbach of Augsburg College gave speeches on the afternoon's workshop, entitled "Teaching for Critical Thinking" and "Restructuring Your Assignments".
Reading his own studying and teaching experience, UIC Vice-President Zee Sze Yong said: "Teachers now recognize that good teaching is something to be developed, and that the process and benefits of doing so can be scientifically and reliability measured". He hoped that such meetings could be continued in future as further research and collaboration were conducted.
