Hamline University is the first university in Minnesota in USA.  According to U.S. News & World Report, Hamline is the top-ranked Minnesota University in its class. As the oldest university of Minnesota State, Hamline is one of only 280 Phi Beta Kappa institutions in the country, which is a precious honor only gives to few institutions.

Hamline has been educating business, education, government, and community leaders since its founding in 1854. Today Hamline's graduate programs prepare the next generation of leaders. Student-focused and practice-based, Hamline's programs are grounded in an ethic of civic responsibility, social justice, and inclusive leadership and service.

Mr. Kevin Barta introduced Website of Hamline University

Mr. Kevin Barta gave the audience some advice on applying for graduate programs. He emphasized that the personal statement need to highlight personal characteristics. He pointed out that students should pay attention to the style differences between US and China. For example, in U.S., it is absolutely not allowed to send the resumes with photos. The family financial proof is also an important fact, Mr. Kevin said, and he suggested students apply on line, for there is not only no application fee, but also higher efficiency.

Since 2009, many UIC students have attended summer programs or exchange programs at Hamline University. Preferential policies have benefited UIC students; there are no requirements for TOEFL or GRE tests, and GPA requirements for UIC students are relatively liberal.
