Dear colleagues,
It is with regrets that I am writing to inform you that Prof. Edmund Kwok, Executive Vice- President, has decided not to seek an extension of his current contract. As most of you know, Prof. Kwok played a very important role in the pathbreaking launch of the College in 2005. Being a pioneer with limited resources, the birth of the College has not been an easy task and Prof Kwok, together with the efforts of other founding members, has a vital share in the contribution towards the success of the College today. Therefore, I am sure you will share my regrets over his departure.

Prof. Kwok's current contract will end on July 31 and, in response to the needs of the College, has graciously accepted to focus his efforts in the coming months on the following areas of work: council affairs, campus development, and the award of postgraduate and honorary degrees by the College.

On behalf of the College, I would like to express my gratitude to Prof. Kwok for his untiring service to the College in the past six years and look forward to his continuing support of the higher education development in Pearl River Delta in general and the development of the College, in particular.
Please join me in wishing him good health and all the very best in his future endeavours!
C F Ng
