On Feb. 11, 2008, the fifth day of the Lunar New Year, a parents' friendship gathering was held in Beijing. Nearly one hundred parents, students and UIC teachers had a great time together to celebrate the New Year.
The gathering opened with an affective speech by Mr. Hong Zhong, Chairman of the Beijing Parent's Club, about the recent development of the parents' network and the great importance that UIC had attached to it.
Following his speech, Ms. Tracy Fu of the Four-Point Education Office answered enquiries from the parents. And at the same time, Prof. Chen Xiaomeng, an experienced teacher, gave students a talk on how to study and live at college. The students said that they had learnt a lot from the talk, and thanked the parents' club for providing such a great opportunity for them.
In the following joint section, student representative Lv Nan talked about his experience at UIC with proud. Ms. Pang Kunrong, a parent, talked about her expectations on the students, wishing them a prominent future. Ms. Tracy Fu, teacher of UIC, also delivered New Year wishes to Beijing parents and students on behalf of the college.
The atmosphere got sentimental when students were encouraged to speak one sentence that they always wanted to tell their parents yet had never found a chance to. Many parents were moved to tears by the kids' sincerity expressed in their words.
Parents and students were gratified with the support and services rendered by the college to improve the interaction and communication among parents, students and teachers. They all had more faith in the college and its educational concepts.
