Three UIC students were awarded Associate’ s Degree by Hong Kong Baptist University and admitted to Universities in Hong Kong recently. They are Wu Chen of the Environmental Science Program, Wu Qiliang of the Statistics Program, and Yao Yupei of the Computer Science and Technology Program. Wu Chen and Wu Qiliang were admitted to HKBU, and Yao Yupei was admitted to Hong Kong Chinese University.
Adopting the teaching programs and administration model of HKBU, UIC provides students with innovative education integrating course requirements of both HKBU and Mainland China. After two years’ study at UIC, students who have earned all required credits can apply for the Associate’s Degree in HKBU. After obtaining the Associate’s Degree, students may have opportunities to continue their programs for Bachelor’s Degree in famous universities in more than twenty countries and regions, such as Hong Kong, the United States, Canada, Britain and Australia. Usually, when applying for admission in universities in Hong Kong or abroad, students will have to go through a series of assessments including assessment to the past achievements, written test and interview.
Yao Yupei told the reporter that he was very happy and excited for being admitted to a prestigious university in Hong Kong. He said that the two-year study at UIC had broadened his vision and was helpful for him to apply for admission to universities in Hong Kong and abroad. He hoped that students junior to him can also make good use of the advantages and work hard for their future.
