According to UIC Business and Management Division, the Accounting Program of UIC was accredited by CPA Australia recently. Students can apply for CPA Australia Associate Membership after they earned the Bachelor’s Degree from UIC. They can become a CPA member when they pass a series of professional tests later. The accreditation furnishes UIC graduates a more assuring approach to obtain the CPA Australia membership.
Dr. Vincent Kwan, Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Accounting Program said that this was the first time CPA Australia had accredited an accounting program in Zhuhai. The accreditation shows that the qualification of UIC Accounting Program has been recognized internationally. It also provides better opportunities for more UIC graduates to obtain international accounting certification, and promote the development of accounting in China.
With a history of 120 years, CPA Australia is one of the most influential accounting bodies in the world. Since the evaluation process is considerably strict, only a few programs in famous universities in China were accredited. The Accounting Program at UIC adopts the courses and administration model of HKBU and use English as the language of instruction. The quality of the program meets the requirement of the CPA Australia. After one year’s complete evaluation, the program was finally accredited.
