In order to accelerate the registration process and make it more easy for new students to adapt to the college environment, education concepts and culture, UIC has made great effort to develop the plan for new student orientation program this year.
New student registration will be on Sep 3 and Sep 4. During these two days UIC will also have the “Four Point Parent Forum” to enhance the communication and exchange between the college and the parents. The Inauguration Ceremony will be on Sep 5 and a series of briefings and exhibitions, including introductions to courses system, credit system, student regulations, services on campus, Mentor Caring Program, student societies and smock-free campus, will be arranged during the whole week.
Two important programs, the Four Points Education Network and Mentor Caring Program will continue to provide opportunities for thorough communication and exchange among new students, their parents, the directors and staff of the college this year. The “Four Points Education Parent Forum” organized by the Four Points Education Office will hosted parents to discuss issues on education and development of the college.
An original program, the Mentor Caring Program (MCP), has become more mature after previous practice. New Students will be divided into 80 groups. One mentor will be assigned to each of the groups. The mentors are experienced staff members who were selected from former mentors. They will regularly organize gatherings and various activities to help students in study and living from the very begging of their college life. Senior students will also assist the program as Junior Mentors this year.
