UIC Summer Programme HKBU 2007

The 22-day “UIC Summer Programme HKBU 2007” was kicked off by a welcoming dinner on 3 July 2007 at HKBU’s Renfrew Seafood Restaurant.  Ninety-one first year or second year students from Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University United International College (“UIC”) were enrolled in one of the three courses offered by HKBU departments, i.e. Television Studio Production, Writing and Reporting for Today’s Media, and Principles of Accounting I.  “I hope this first summer programme will set a model for future summer programmes between HKBU and UIC,” said Prof C F Ng, President and Vice-Chancellor of HKBU and Founding President of UIC, at the welcoming dinner last night.  Classes are conducted from 4 July through 24 July and a series of social and cultural activities will be arranged over the weekends.  Prof Ng thanked deeply the HKBU academic departments and administrative units such as the Academic Registry, Finance Office, ITSC, Library, Student Housing Section, etc. for making this summer programme possible.  The “UIC Summer Programme HKBU 2007” is one of the 9 summer programmes being offered to UIC students this year.  Other places UIC students will go this summer include Bangladesh, Cambridge University/UK, Hokkaido/Japan, Minnesota/USA, Thailand, Tibet, Guizhou & Yunnan in China.
