On 19 August 2006, 38 students and their parents from Hong Kong visited UIC.
It rained heavily in the morning of 19 August, but the rain did not affect the enthusiasm of these Hong Kong visitors. They went around the campus with great curiosity and interest, while asking lots of questions about studying at UIC. Two UIC second-year students answered the questions carefully according to the experience of their study life here.
After the campus tour, they visited a typical student dormitory. Most of them were satisfied with the living environment. One of the parents indicated that the living standard of university students now has improved so much compared with earlier times.
In the afternoon, the Hong Kong students and their parents gathered in Room Z-A107. Here our Deputy Register Ricky Hou introduced some general information about UIC. As he stated that UIC is a college where you can meet students from many different places, parents said that it would be an opportunity to train their children to become more resourceful and independent. And the Whole Person Educational Approach especially designed for the UIC students is interesting and attractive to the parents. Some of them felt that they can rely on UIC and they do not have any worry after visiting the campus because they trust the quality of teaching and living at UIC.
