More than 70 percent of UICers opted for postgraduate studies at home and abroad. Many of those who chose to study in Chinese mainland were admitted to top universities, including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Wuhan University, Sun Yat-sen University, Beijing Normal University, Renmin University of China, etc.
As the Unified National Graduate Entrance Examination 2022 is approaching, some UIC alumni share their experiences with those preparing for the exam.

After two years of preparation, Ding Meishan, who graduated from the Applied Psychology programme in 2018, was admitted to the Master's degree in Applied Psychology (Clinical and Counseling Psychology) in the Faculty of Psychology of Beijing Normal University. In the first year, Ding Meishan felt very stressed as the exam day approached; at one point, she got very anxious and failed to pass the exam. But she didn't give up. In the second time of preparation, she learnt to cope with her emotions, found a more suitable way for herself, and managed to pass the exam. As she says, every step counts.

Therefore, in addition to his psychology studies in UIC, Yang Yongpeng also found courses on MOOC and Bilibili (video sharing website) in his free time. In his first year at Beijing Normal University, Yang Yongpeng passed the Judicial Examination, which is necessary for his career as a lawyer.

Xu Ya said the self-study and problem-solving abilities that she built in UIC improved her performance in the postgraduate study. She addressed that doing a postgraduate study is challenging; therefore, a thorough consideration before making the decision is necessary. She also believes that graduating with a Master’s degree does not mean getting a job easier. The most important thing is to keep learning and improving oneself.
