In addition to pursuing knowledge in classes, UIC students explore interests in their leisure, and the staff also look for their passion in life.

Yan Jintao, a second-year student in the Public Relations and Advertising programme, is pleased with his choice of major. He is determined to work in the advertising industry in the future. As an active student who is highly engaged in playing football and club activities, he was in charge of the stage sound in the big event, which was driven by his passion.
Yan developed a passion for making electronic music since high school. He took his first step in the field during his summer vacation after finishing the college entrance examination. He thought about giving up when difficulties occurred, but his small achievements helped him build confidence. So far, Yan Jintao has signed a contract with CEM Records, a well-known electronic music label in China. He has released 12 tracks on NetEase Music and ten tracks released on QQ Music.

Sometimes Chen Yu would drop by some coffee shop. As she holds a clear view of her plan, Chen is busy preparing material for postgraduate education and plans to take an internship in the economic field.

Dr Robyn Bray, Director of the English Language Centre, has been a teacher for 17 years. She takes teaching as her priority in her life. As the director, Robyn covers administration work as well as teaching. Her students gave her a lot of compliments due to her strict, patient and experienced teaching style.
Loving and caring are also the reasons that her students like her. In 2020, Robyn moved to Zhuhai, and she noticed many stray cats in the neighbourhood. She then volunteered to help the cats through TNR (Trap Neuter Release). It prevents the cats from transmitting diseases, and the cats could also survive in the wild. Her action was understood and supported later on by the management of the community. As a result, more people are joining Robyn to save cats.
