Lu Hongyi
Lu improved her learning efficiency during her study life at UIC. In addition to concentrating on classes, she would also spend time after class reviewing the highlights of the courses and going through the content that was not covered in class.
UIC's curriculum also strengthened her other abilities comprehensively, including language, expression and logic, and it encouraged her to communicate with teachers more actively.

Lu regarded the Internet as a robust knowledge base besides utilising UIC's teaching resources. For example, when studying linear algebra, she watched related videos provided by MIT online, solidifying her understanding of the course.
Lu is not only a hard-working student, but an active participant in various events and competitions.
On campus, she had acted as an English host, a campus journalist, a peer mentor in UIC's Mentor Caring Programme (MCP) and more. Outside the campus, she had attended several internships, unlocking multiple possibilities and skills off-class.

The Statistics Programme at UC Berkeley is ranked second in the US, and there is a lot of competition for undergraduates in the Chinese mainland to apply.
Referring to her postgraduate study offer, Lu said it is vital to present oneself from more perspectives instead of merely focusing on academic experience. She pointed out that language scores are not decisive as long as the applicant meets the school's standards.

She hoped her fellow students could be practical and responsible when preparing for their applications and yield ideal results.
