UIC graduate representative Wang Yating delivers a speech

Good afternoon, distinguished guests, esteemed faculty, staff, cherished families, and my fellow graduates,

I'm Wang Yating from Interactive Media Studies Concentration. It is a profound privilege to address you today on such a momentous occasion.

Firstly, I extend my deepest gratitude to our exceptional educators, advisors, and academic staff. Your steadfast guidance has been our compass in this voyage of learning.

Today, we convene in this grand hall for the final time to mark our graduation, poised on the threshold of new beginnings. It feels like only a moment ago we first crossed the campus gates, filled with anticipation and wonder.

Before we stride forward, let us pause to reflect upon our journey. Though our paths have differed, our collective experiences bind us. We have forged friendships, acquired knowledge, and matured immeasurably. We have confronted challenges and emerged victorious, learning resilience in the face of adversity.

Postgraduate study demands rigorous effort. Amidst lectures, assignments, and examinations, it is easy to falter under the weight of obligations. Yet, we have endured. In moments of doubt and uncertainty - common to us all in new ventures - we have found our paths and pursued our passions.

As we reflect on our past year, the strides we have made are unmistakable. Though today we part ways, the spirit of our alma mater will infuse every endeavour we undertake hereafter. I trust that our education at this university will broaden our perspectives, enabling us to appreciate the richness of humanity and transcending boundaries of gender and origin.

In the words we hold dear, "In knowledge and in deeds, unto the whole person," let us step forward.

Thank you.
