The mission of UIC is to build a new model for liberal arts education in mainland China and to nurture talented future graduates with international perspectives. To do this they want to integrate creatively and dynamically international and national experiences of education in China. Another part of the mission is to promote Whole Person Education with local and international relevance in addition to promoting liberal arts education by tapping into both classical Chinese and Western cultural traditions. Finally, they want to develop an innovative Four-Point Education Model that unites the forces of the college, the students, the parents and society for the delivery of our education programs. UIC’s charter was approved by the Ministry of Education with full support from local authorities indicating shift occurring in higher education within mainland China.

UIC offers 20 undergraduate programs that are provided by the Division of Business and Management, Division of Humanities and Social Sciences as well as the Division of Science and Technology. UIC has set its academic standards for degree courses to conform to international standards and as a result graduates will receive both a degree from HKBU and a certificate from UIC. To maintain a strict control over the quality of its education, UIC has set up a Quality Assurance Committee, plus a panel by HKBU visits UIC annually to review and assess the standards of UIC’s academic departments and units.

UIC faculty members are recruited from more than 20 countries and regions with a large percent coming from abroad while others are from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and from mainland China. Exposing the students to the outside world has been a goal at UIC and has been achieved as the university has partner up with over twenty international partners, including universities in the USA, Australia, Korea, UK, and other European countries.  Also students from these universities have the chance to experience China by visiting UIC. Zhuhai is a popular choice and it is easy to see why, as it has sub-tropical weather and located on the southern coast of China.  Clean beaches, great seafood, Zhuhai is very popular with tourists.  UIC is located in a peace area of Zhuhai where it is surrounded by trees and lush green grass making it a relaxing and pleasant environment to study in.  Don’t take our word for it; visit the website or our social media pages to learn more.
