About the Film:
2001: A Space Odyssey is a 1968 film produced and directed by Stanley Kubrick, co-written with Arthur C. Clarke, who produced the story and, on the same track, wrote the novel of the same name published in the same year .
A science fiction set in the near future, it touches on themes such as the identity and destiny of human nature and the role of knowledge and technology. Though the inspiration comes from Clarke's 1948 short story The Sentinel, the writer admitted that The Sentinel looks like 2001 "like an acorn looks like a grown oak"
