UIC welcomed a delegation comprised of 30 scholars and experts from more than 10 higher education institutions in Hong Kong, to investigate the collaboration in higher education in the Greater Bay Area and UIC's unique experiences. The visit was organised by the Department of Educational, Scientific and Technological Affairs of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong SAR, and supported by the Hong Kong Higher Education Convergence.

Representative of the Department of the Liaison Office Mr Song Huan pointed out that collaboration in higher education in the Greater Bay Area could combine the advantages of Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland. UIC pioneered in the cooperation, and its liberal education concept has won widespread praise. The inspection delegation will visit three jointly-run Hong Kong universities, with UIC being the first stop.

UIC President Prof Chen Zhi introduced UIC's educational philosophy and its efforts to nurture well-rounded talents with both national sentiment and international perspectives. He noted UIC's significant growth over the past two decades and expressed willingness for diverse collaborations with Hong Kong universities to advance the Greater Bay Area's higher education.

In the meeting, the delegation and UIC representatives deeply discussed challenges in cooperative education, student exchange, research collaboration and more.
After the meeting, the delegation toured around UIC, visiting its buildings and facilities.

The visiting delegation included scholars from the University of Hong Kong, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, the City University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong Baptist University, Lingnan University, the Education University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Metropolitan University, the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Hong Kong Shue Yan University, Hong Kong Chu Hai College, and Hong Kong College of Technology.
UIC senior management also attended the meeting, including Vice President (Research and Development) Prof Pan Jianxin, Associate Vice President (Teaching and Learning) and Dean of the Graduate School Prof Huang Yu, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Prof Hon Tze-ki, Dean of the School of Culture and Creativity Prof Eugene Ch'ng, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology Prof Xuanyuan Zhe, Acting Dean of the School of General Education Prof Guo Haipeng, Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Business and Management Dr Weng Zhiquan, and Director of President and College Office Li Feiliang.
