HKBU soars in global rankings: QS & THE Impact

Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) has achieved a significant leap of 43 places in the "2025 QS World University Rankings", rising from 295th last year to 252nd. This achievement marks HKBU's best performance since 2013, reflecting its ongoing commitment to interdisciplinary teaching, learning, and research.

According to the Rankings data, HKBU has improved in aspects including sustainability, employment outcomes, and international research network, reflecting its efforts and effectiveness in promoting an internationalised environment, providing a quality research environment, and adhering to a sustainable development strategy.

Moreover, in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2024, HKBU made substantial progress by moving into the top 101-200 bands globally and achieved second place worldwide for "SDG 4: Quality Education." These rankings underscore HKBU's dedication towards sustainability and advancing the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The THE Impact Rankings serve as critical indicators measuring universities’ global contributions towards UN's SDGs. By excelling in a variety of SDGs, these universities showcase their commitment to addressing the world's most pressing challenges, including environmental sustainability, social inclusion, economic growth and partnerships.THE evaluated 2,152 universities from 125 countries and regions to produce the overall Impact Ranking for 2024.

As one of Asia's leading higher education institutions, HKBU has continued to strengthen its unique position by combining a creative culture, technology application and diversifying learning experiences. The university will use these ranking results as a reference point for further enhancing its academic pursuits.
