The UIC Comprehensive Evaluation Admission (CEA) Examination for Guangdong Province was held on 16 and 17 June 2024. The number of applicants surged to nearly 14,000 this year, marking a new record high. After rigorous screening, over 8,300 candidates qualified for the examination.

This year's exam continued to adopt a "dual cameras" online setting, with English interviews used primarily to assess students' English language skills and general ability. Candidates were given a test run from 11 to 14 June to rehearse the procedure and ensure they were well-prepared for the final interview.
UIC President Prof Chen Zhi said that in nearly two decades of education history, UIC has adhered to the liberal arts education philosophy and trained nearly twenty thousand students with professional knowledge and comprehensive qualities. This diverse evaluation method provides more opportunities for selecting students suitable for liberal arts education.

The CEA exam is known for its "6:3:1" ratio, which means that 60% of the candidates' scores in the college entrance examination, 30% in the CEA exam, and 10% from high school will be considered.
