Zhao Yuetong
Third-year student
From Applied Psychology (APSY)
to Financial Mathematics (FM)
Awards: First Class Awards in 2019-2020 academic year and 2020-2021 academic year
Zhao Yuetong transferred from Applied Psychology (APSY) to Financial Mathematics (FM) in her second year. Mathematics has always been the subject that she's good at, and she thinks the Financial Mathematics programme is promising when seeking a job. After transferring to the new programme, Yuetong would ask her teachers and classmates for help and self-reflect regularly to better adapt. To catch up with the learning process in advance, she took several major courses in the summer programme before the third semester.

Chang Haoyu
Third-year student
From Business Administration (BA)
to Accounting (ACCT)
Award: UIC's Full Entrance Scholarship
Chang Haoyu already had a career plan to be an accountant when he was a freshman, so he took the initiative to transfer to the Accounting (ACCT) Programme. According to Haoyu, accounting could cultivate his data processing and judgement analysis abilities, with which he would seize more job opportunities. His journey in ACCT began with hurdles but gradually became smooth with his efforts in academic work. Learning the experience from other ACCT students also urged him to become a better self.

Cheng Yiran
Second-year student
From Foreign Language and Literature (FLL)
to Media and Communication Studies (MCOM)
Awards: First Class Award of 2020-2021 Academic year, several photo awards in and out of UIC, publishing an article on Jing Chu Academia (organised by Tsinghua University)
Since getting into UIC, Cheng Yiran has planned to transfer to Media and Communication Studies (MCOM) Programme. She raised a habit of reading relevant literature to enrich her media knowledge, which helped her adjust to the new learning pathway in MCOM later.
Yiran oriented herself with the MCOM family, as she has acquaintance with some MCOM students in previous campus events. Moreover, the later cooperation with other students in group projects also promoted her connection with her classmates later.

Liao Zihong
Third-year student
From English Language and Literature Studies (ELLS)
to Cinema and Television (CTV)
Liao Zihong decided to follow his dream, getting into the Cinema and Television (CTV) Programme, though he appreciated what he had learned in the ELLS programme. He, as the newcomer, still remembers the help from other CTV students when meeting difficulties and challenges.
The movie production industry requires professionals to manage time, human resources, and event planning. Therefore, Zihong felt the significance of developing his management and adaptation skills to work in this industry in the future.
