DBM students represent South China in Asia Pacific Business Case Contest

A team of students from the Division of Business and Management, representing South China, was invited to participate in the HSBC/HKU Asia Pacific Business Case Competition 2016 in Hong Kong between 31 May and 4 June.

This year, 24 universities from the Asia Pacific area attended the competition, including the University of British Columbia, the University of Malaya, Victoria University of Wellington and The University of Hong Kong.

The DBM team members were Zheng Xiaoke (Accounting, Year Four), Huang Yun (Management of Human Resources, Year Three), Hu Die (Finance, Year Three) and Guo Yang (Accounting, Year Three), with coach Dean Prof Stella Cho and advisers Dr Minyu Wu, Dr Uchenna Eze, Mr Joseph Liang and Dr Darren Weng.

It was a good platform for the students to present themselves on behalf of UIC. They also networked with professionals and the participating international students.

Prior to this competition, the team participated in the 2016 HSBC Mainland China Business Case Competition South China Section in Guangzhou on 24 April and won the second place.

Organised by HSBC Bank (China) Company Ltd and the Shanghai United Foundation, and supported by the Asia Case Research Centre at The University of Hong Kong, the competition provided a high-level platform for communication in business case analysis.
