The New Staff and Student Activities Centre at the New Cultural Village was officially inaugurated on 2 March. Its plaque was unveiled by UIC President Prof Ng Ching-Fai and president of the 10th Executive Committee of the Student Union Liu Yunlong.
Compared to the Staff and Student Activities Centre on the main campus, this centre has a larger capacity and better lighting. On the stage musical performances or speeches can be given, in the dancing room students can take associated classes, and in the middle of the centre there is a wide space for rehearsing drama or shows.
The Centre also has a news stand (newspapers and magazines) and provides desks and chairs to students and staff to read about and discuss current events.
The opening hours of the new centre are Monday to Thursday, from 8:30am to 9:30pm and Friday from 8:30am to 5:30pm.
