UIC has settled on a logo for its tenth anniversary after an open design competition.
The logo, featuring the letters U, I and C with a seeming action of embracing the number 10, will be seen on the college’s printed and digital materials for promotional use.
The first place of the logo design has gone to Jiangsu’s Kong Lingpei, whose submission was later adapted to the theme of the UIC decennial: innovate, progress and excel. It now has become the official logo.
UIC Year Two student Ai Lun from the International Journalism Programme took second place and Sun Minghao from the Public Relations and Advertising Programme came in third.
Ai's work has also topped the people’s choice award for the 10 most popular entries during the online voting round.
A total of 82 logos and 28 slogans were submitted to the design competition, with 30 of the logos named on the shortlist for online voting. No slogans have been chosen by UIC’s Tenth Anniversary Logo and Slogan Committee yet.
Based on the online voting results and on professional knowledge, a jury made the final appraisal and chose the first to third place winners of the logo design.
The competition, which lasted two months, was organised by Media and Public Relations Office, Student Affairs Office and the Eighth Executive Committee of the Student Union.
